IAS at Saylorville Lake Visitor Center
The Iowa Academy of Science through an agreement with the Army Corps of Engineers, Rock Island District, provides services to the visiting public at the Saylorville Visitor Center. The services include supplying the Gift Shop at the Visitor Center with suitable interpretive and education literature or other educational publications, maps, audio visual aides, crafts and other items related to the interpretive and educational themes of the area. The Academy may also offer educational programs, professional workshops, training opportunities and special events.
The IAS Speaker Series at Saylorville provides educational opportunities for all ages. Members of the Academy volunteer their time and expertise for public education. It is an opportunity for Iowans to meet Iowa scientists in an informal setting. Many of the presentations are suitable for children and include hands-on experiences. The presentations are free of charge.
