Mauree Haage Candidate Biography

Mauree Haage currently serves as the south central regional director for the Iowa Academy of Science Teacher section. In addition to her commitment to ISTS, she teaches science at Twin Cedars Jr/Sr High in Bussey, Iowa.  She has been a teacher for the past five years and in that short amount of time she not only has reached several hundred students, but also teachers from around the nation through presentations at both our state conference and NSTA conferences all over.  She recently has begun working as a facilitator to help bring computer science into the classroom throughout the state of Iowa. In addition to teaching and serving ISTS, Mauree also works on other committees such as the Iowa STEM Council computer science workgroup and the Iowa STEM south central advisory board.

It is Mauree’s belief and passion of providing high quality science education to all students that leads her in these endeavors. As such, it not only has kept her busy but also given her the opportunity to be named the 2017 Shell Lab Makeover regional winner.  Mauree understands the impact and importance of ISTS to teachers and students throughout the state and is excited for the opportunity that serving as ISTS vice-chair would entail.
